5 Best Moments from London Fashion Weekend 2014

19/09/14

London Fashion Weekend 2014 – It was all so great, I have had trouble picking just five things to write about but if you are sad to see summer coming to an end, a peak at what to wear for Autumn/ Winter will get you more excited about the cooler season to come.

Just the train journey up to London was fun but I best not use that of my best 5 moments but it was great to have full on girly catch up with Trayc Randall of http://www.bytrayc.com/ and Leah Buckingham of http://www.beautination.co.uk/ who had come straight from their radio show    http://www.channelradio.co.uk/shows-look-good-feel-good-show/ buzzing with news of new beauty products.

Best Moment No.1

The Designer Catwalk by the amazing Amanda Wakeley http://www.amandawakeley.com/?gclid=CjwKEAjwqO-gBRCEyp2Fufm0lBASJAAZrX-5jRkmzEa0k7V5z1YP7JD3ye9U28KutyhcCKNLw-f9RRoC-1_w_wcB

She hobbled on stage on crutches, still looking incredibly glamorous in a black jump suit from her new collection and gave a fascinating interview about the new collection whetting our appetite for what was to come.

amanda talkingOn came the girls, music pumping and wow! We couldn’t have drooled more. Incredible structured lines and luxurious fabrics flowed down the catwalk, every time a new piece came onto the catwalk we bagged it. Wish list well and truly long!

Best Moment No.2

Fizz!

Free glass of fizz went down very well after all the drooling that took place during the designer catwalk with the added advantage of being able to indulge in the compulsory (well at a fashion event anyway!) art of people watching, where we saw street style and individuality at its best.

Best Moment No.3

Pop Up Shops!

Some brilliant pop ups at Somerset House showcasing some of the designers and new talent, with bargains on offer too. We browsed through the beautiful corridors of Somerset House adding extensively to the wish lists and even trying a few things on, would have been rude not too since at Emma Shipley http://emmajshipley.com/ they gave us more free fizz! Not sure clothes, shoes and bags, we were in beauty heaven too.. even scratch & sniff  at Maybelline

Best Moment No. 4

The Trends Catwalk

The drooling continued big time. Trends for Autumn/Winter 2014 that The Outnet https://www.theoutnet.com/ showcased included Colour Pop, Jungle Fever, Candy Crush and Fairy Tale Ending.

There really is something for everyone this season, soft flowing fabrics to skin over curves or straight structured lines for more angular shapes, bright vibrant shades or muted minimal pastels.

Best Moment No. 5

Somerset House

Being in central London it such a magnificent setting has to make the best of list. Somerset House is such a stunning location for any event but it really gives London Fashion Weekend true gravitas and visitors a taste of London’s grandness. The minute you walk through the arched entrance you feel inspired. The courtyard is transformed by the pop up catwalk and the setting could not be more stunning.

Awesome time was had by all, great day out, great fashion ideas and one extremely long wish list….
